The NUAMES Model United Nations Club Charter
Mission Statement
Through participation in Model United Nations, the students will develop an understanding of international relations, public communication, diplomatic representation, and the ability to make informed and widely applicable decisions.
Purpose
The purpose of our club is to learn how the UN operates and to have a greater awareness of world events which is done by real world simulations. Also, it is to promote inter-grade cooperation, as well as inter-school cooperation. Finally, it is to have fun.
Code of Conduct
Our code of conduct is as follows:
Budget & Fees
The purpose of our club is not to make money. Therefore, only the required fees for attendance and MUN conferences and for other items voted on by the majority of club members will be charged.
Required Fees:
NUAMES will be responsible for paying school & registration fees for attending MUN conferences and occasional transportation as deemed necessary.
NUAMES will provide some basic materials (ex: MUN binders) for club use. If any of these materials are lost, or damaged STUDENTS will be required to replace or repair them.
Students will be responsible for paying a $20 club fee which is intended to:
We, the members of NUAMES MUN, reserve the right to consider fundraisers as needed or requested by the members of MUN.

The NUAMES Model United Nations club will meet weekly on a particular day decided each school year by a simple majority vote of all returning members present at the first organizational meeting.
The NUAMES Model United Nations club will have an elected body of representatives. The offices being;
Students are expected to maintain their grades in both academics and citizenship in order to participate in conferences and club meetings

- Listen to the advisors
- Respect everybody
- Fighting is not allowed (debating is not fighting)
- Adherence to conference rules
- Participation (minimum of 80% attendance to ensure participation at conferences)
- Adherence to NUAMES code of conduct
- Appropriate dress at conferences

- Have adequate and consistent attendance as defined by the Code of Conduct to ensure the ability to participate.
- Develop proficiency in public speaking and regulation
- Work well with others in a way that fosters communication and cooperation.
- Display respect to all peers and authoritative figures and their ethical beliefs.
- Be able to consider all viewpoints and factors.
- Form an opinion and have the ability to communicate and persuade others of it.

- Vice President
- Secretary
- Publicity Secretary
- News Secretary
- Ad hoc Officers as needed
- The elected body will be voted in by a simple majority vote, with a minimum ¾ of club members present.
Students are expected to maintain their grades in both academics and citizenship in order to participate in conferences and club meetings
- No student shall have less than a C grade in any NUAMES class and be allowed to participate in conferences.
- No student shall have below an S in citizenship in any NUAMES class and be allowed to attend club meetings.
- Once a student adjusts his/her grade and/or citizenship to comply with acceptable standards, he/she will be immediately given back all membership rights and privileges pertaining to club/conference attendance.
